POSITION: Senior Manager, Risk

The bank is looking for a talented, energetic, self-driven, and results-oriented professional who is dedicated to achieving performance excellence and contributing to our growth strategy.

The job reports to the Chief Risk Officer and is in charge of developing, implementing, and enforcing a rigorous risk management framework and systems (policies, processes, and tools) to address credit, operational, strategic, liquidity, foreign exchange, and interest rate risk.

Responsibilities

  • Offer coordination and guidance for the bank’s risk management activities.
  • Create risk management rules, including the measurement of the Bank’s risk appetite via defined risk limits, in accordance with the Bank’s business objectives and strategy.
  • Create analytical, system, and data management skills to assist the risk management team and enable the generation of quality control and regulatory reports.
  • Create a risk managing culture that encourages sound analysis, judgment, adaptability, and a balance between risk and reward.
  • Ensure that mechanisms exist for identifying, classifying, and managing important risks to the bank.
  • Monitor, analyze, and build risk profiles of new areas of activity to verify that they comply with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and manage the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Strategy for all areas of risk across the organization, and assure its effective execution.
  • Establish the Enterprise Risk department to ensure that it can support first-line risk-taking operations with effective second-line challenges.
  • Recommend an acceptable risk appetite in line with strategic objectives, and ensure that the Board-approved risk tolerance is integrated into the entire strategic agenda.
  • Create an adequate risk architecture to support strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Implement risk data aggregation capabilities to provide seamless risk analysis and reporting.
  • Launch an appropriate stress test and scenario program, then evaluate the results and assess the consequences for the bank.
  • Implement a control testing and assurance program to ensure the design and efficacy of risk frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Implement a risk scanning procedure to help analyze Horizon and Forward-looking risks.
  • Review the prompt execution and corrective action for highlighted issues.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are reviewed annually.
  • Ensure that appropriate management information systems are in place to promote communication and decision making.
  • Implement a set of policies and procedures that provide an acceptable level of control over the risk function.
  • Coordination of the bank’s business continuity management program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar in information technology, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in risk obtained from a certified professional body.
  • The equivalent of 7 years of relevant business/function knowledge.
  • Experience implementing risk management strategies and collaborating with leadership and regulators.
  • Personal organization and initiative, such as diary management.
  • A comprehensive understanding of global risk standards and their applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and modeling skills.
  • A proactive, persistent, and results-oriented leader with strong initiative.
  • Ability to manage and encourage employees.
  • Excellent written and vocal communication skills, as well as strong presentation abilities.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
