Creative Editor – Mwana Spot (1 Post)

PURPOSE: Developing and executing creative content strategies that enhance the overall quality and appeal of Mwanaspoti, with a specific focus on creating impactful non-news content that drives economic impact.

Main Responsibilities:

Drive the non-news agenda, creating content from ideation to implementation with significant economic impact.
Lead and inspire the team to develop and execute non-news content strategies that enhance the overall impact.
Collaborate with writers, photographers, designers, and other editorial staff to ensure that all content is visually engaging, well-written, and resonates with our audience.
Perform the roles of a normal editor in the newsroom, including editing and proofreading content to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to the newspaper’s style guide.
Develop and implement creative content strategies that align with the newspaper’s goals and audience interests.
Work closely with the marketing and social media teams to promote content and engage with readers across platforms.
Edit and oversee post-production processes to ensure high-quality final products.
Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to enhance creative output.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Digital Journalism, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Experience: 2-3 years of working experience, preferably in a media or agency environment in progressively responsible content production roles.
